Shipping from India to the USA

Cargo for the eastern half of the US usually goes to East Coast ports such as New York/New Jersey or Savannah, often via the Suez Canal or a transshipment hub. Cargo for the West and Midwest often goes to Los Angeles/Long Beach and moves inland by rail or truck. The right choice depends on where your buyer is, the shipping lines' current routes and cost.

For sea freight, the US importer (or their broker) must file an Importer Security Filing, known as ISF or "10+2", at least 24 hours before the cargo is loaded on the vessel in India. Late or wrong filings can lead to fines and holds. We send the shipper-side details on time so your buyer can file.

Food products also need FDA prior notice, and some goods need extra certificates. US import duty rates change often, so ask your buyer to confirm the current rate for your HS code before you agree on terms.
