The Only Aircraft Import at an Indian ICD: ICD Patiala

The import was carried out for the Government of Punjab, State Civil Aviation Council. The aircraft, including a Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft and a Cessna, were delivered to the Council's hangar.

An inland container depot is built for containers: machinery, textiles, consumer goods. Customs clearance of an aircraft at an ICD had never been done in India. It meant working through a process that had no precedent, with authorities who had not handled this kind of cargo at an ICD before.

Clearing an aircraft needs more than a standard bill of entry. We obtained special permissions from:
